Paris – C’était Magique!

7th November 23

Our five-day school trip to Paris was an unforgettable adventure for both students and staff alike, filled with cultural enrichment and exciting experiences. The itinerary was carefully crafted to include visits to key monuments, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich history. Students marvelled at iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Arc de Triomphe, absorbing the significance of each.
We had an action-packed itinerary. One evening, the group embarked on a magical night-time boat cruise along the Seine River, witnessing Paris illuminated in all its splendour. Students also explored the renowned Musée d’Orsay, appreciating its vast collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces. The visit to the Pantheon was marked by a particularly intriguing exhibit, capturing the attention of the students with its thought-provoking content about those who fought to abolish slavery but were not celebrated during their lifetimes.
A visit to the opulent Palace of Versailles added a touch of royal grandeur to the students’ experience. The sprawling palace and its meticulously manicured gardens left the students in awe as they strolled through the Hall of Mirrors, stunned at the intricate architecture and lavish décor that once housed French royalty.
Finally, the day spent at Disneyland Paris was a highlight, allowing students to revel in the magic of the theme park, from thrilling rides to enchanting character encounters. Even the teachers got on a few roller coasters!
Despite the extensive itinerary, the weather generally held out, providing a comfortable backdrop for the numerous walking excursions. The students embraced the adventure with enthusiasm, demonstrating minimal complaints with the 20,000+ steps we were racking up every day. The trip not only expanded their knowledge of French culture, history, language and art but also, we hope, gave the students some fond memories with their classmates. C’était magique!
