Sixth Form Admissions
The two years spent in the Sixth Form are exciting times – exploring subjects in depth and taking advantage of the wealth of opportunities that are on offer. Open Evening
Register to attend our next Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 8th October from 7pm – 8.30pm
Our Sixth Form Open Evening start with a presentations from the Headmaster and Deputy Head Academic, who will provide an insight into life in Dunottar Sixth Form. You will also have the opportunity to meet with our Department Heads and current Sixth Form students to discuss subjects and possible A-level choices in detail. Refreshments will be available. Entrance Assessments
If you are unable to attend the Open Evening, please fill in the ‘Express Your Interest’ form below and a member of our admissions Team will be in touch to discuss next steps.
External applications for Sixth Form admission are required by the beginning of December in the year before entry (e.g. 1st December 2026 for September 2027 entry).
Any pupil who wishes to join Dunottar School in Year 12 will be interviewed by a senior member of staff, will tour the school and meet the Head of Sixth Form and the Heads of Departments of the subjects that the pupil wishes to study at A Level. We will also request references from the current school.
To achieve three A Levels and thrive in our Sixth Form, we expect pupils to achieve a minimum of six grade 6s at GCSE, with those looking to study Maths or Science requiring grade 7s.
We understand that not all pupils will achieve these grades and may require an adapted programme of study. Please do contact us if this is the case, as we want each individual pupil to follow the educational pathway best suited to their needs and can tailor your programme accordingly.
