DUNOTTAR SCHOOL ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH SURREY CRICKET FOUNDATION

As a result of the partnership, the Reigate based school is launching a Surrey Cricket Development and Performance Centre.

The partnership will create a number of opportunities for the school community, beginning with the installation of a brand new 4-lane indoor cricket net system in the sports hall. The top-class, county standard cricket facilities on site will enable pupils to take advantage of specialist training programmes, enhancing their understanding of the game.

Surrey Cricket Foundation will also use the facilities at Dunottar School to run county coaching and development courses for adults and children during the school holidays.

When the facilities are not in use, Dunottar plans to make them accessible to local cricket clubs.

The installation programme of state-of-the-art nets and lighting took place over two weeks in February half term. The facilities and the partnership will be officially opened after Easter.

Mark Tottman, Headmaster of Dunottar School, commented: “I am grateful for the considerable work that has gone on behind the scenes by our Sports and Estates departments and parents to help bring this superb initiative to fruition.

“It has been a pleasure working with Surrey Cricket, and we are delighted that they chose to partner with Dunottar School.”

Paul Taylor, Director of Participation at Surrey Cricket foundation, added: “The Surrey Cricket Foundation is always looking to expand its reach out into the county. The new partnership with Dunottar School has seen the creation of an outstanding new indoor cricket facility, available for use not only by Surrey Cricket, but also the local community of Reigate. We are excited to be working with the school and further developing our junior coaching course and coach education programmes in the area. Many thanks to all involved for bringing this initiative to fruition.”
