13th February 25
Congratulations to all of Dunottar’s Houses for another spectacular and successful House Shout! This year’s theme, Back to the 80s, brought an explosion of energy, creativity and enthusiasm, making for an unforgettable event.
We were thrilled to welcome Nicholas McLean as our guest judge. With an impressive background in Musical Theatre, Nicholas provided insightful, constructive and encouraging feedback, inspiring our pupils with his expertise. A huge thank you to Nicholas for his time, support and fantastic adjudication!
George’s House Keeps the Crown!
Maintaining their winning streak, George’s House took first place once again with their show-stopping performance of Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’. Their performance was a masterclass in creativity, featuring a storyline, costumes, wigs, dance moves, extensive tech requirements and of course, some seriously powerful vocals! Nicholas was impressed by their energy, enthusiasm and imaginative approach.
Solo Competition Shines Bright
Alongside the group House competition, the solo contest was just as fiercely contested. A huge congratulations to Aadhya (David’s House), who won with her stunning rendition of George Ezra’s ‘Budapest’. Special congratulations also go to Teddy (George’s House) and Scarlett (David’s House), who both secured second place with fantastic performances.
A massive well done to all the pupils who took part – we are already looking forward to next year’s House Shout! Will another house rise to the challenge, or will George’s House keep their winning streak alive?
