Polly Saines competed at the Junior Disability Swimming Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield last weekend.
After winning four silver and two bronze medals, she was also awarded certificates for breaking British Deaf Swimming Age Group Records in: 50 metres backstroke on 11th January 2014; 400 metres individual medley on 13th December 2013; and 800 metres freestyle on 5th December 2013.
She gained a medal in all of the six races at Sheffield, winning four silvers in 100 metres freestyle, 200 metres individual medley, 100 metres individual medley and 100 metres breaststroke. She also won two bronze medals in 100 metres backstroke and 50 metres freestyle.
Alison Saines, Polly’s mother, commented: “Polly is training hard, working towards the European Deaf Swimming Championships to be held in Saransk, Russia, in June 2014. We are extremely proud of her.”
