🏐 Alumni Netball Tournament – Rules & Code of Conduct

1. Tournament Rules

Game Format

• Matches will be [X minutes per half] with a [Y-minute break] at halftime.
• Standard netball rules apply (based on [World Netball / local governing body rules]).

Scoring & Points

• Win = 3 points | Draw = 1 point | Loss = 0 points.
• In case of a tie in rankings, goal difference will decide.

Team Composition

• 7 players on court (minimum 5 required to start).
• Rolling substitutions allowed during breaks in play with the umpire’s permission.

Umpires & Decisions

• Umpires’ decisions are final.
• Players must respect officials and avoid disputes during games.

Timing & Attendance

• Teams must be ready to play at their scheduled time.
• Late arrival of more than 5 minutes may result in a forfeit.

2. Player Safety

• Jewellery must be removed or taped.
• Fingernails must be short or taped.
• Appropriate footwear is required (no studs/cleats).
• Players must inform organisers of any medical conditions or injuries.
• First aid will be available on-site.

3. Code of Conduct

Respect & Sportsmanship

• Treat teammates, opponents, officials, and organisers with respect.
• Play fair and in the spirit of fun competition.
• Verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated.

Fair Play

• No deliberate obstruction, intimidation, or rough play.
• Accept umpiring decisions gracefully.

Inclusivity

• The event welcomes alumni of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
• Encourage and support each other on and off the court.

Substance Use

• Alcohol or illegal substances are not permitted during games.

Social Media & Photography

• Be mindful when sharing photos/videos—respect participants’ privacy.

4. Consequences of Misconduct

• Warnings may be issued for breaches of conduct.
• Serious or repeated misconduct may lead to:
  • Removal from a match.
  • Disqualification of a team.
  • Exclusion from future alumni events.
