Rachel Ballantyne

I have been an English teacher at Dunottar School since September 2017 and, alongside full-time teaching, I have been working towards my doctorate in Education. By allowing me to work flexibly, the school has enabled me to pursue my studies at my own pace, rather than cramming my writing in to the odd hour here and there. I have also used some members of the SLT as sounding boards for developing ideas for my thesis.

Working at Dunottar feels like being part of a family: you can share the highs and lows with each other and work collaboratively to achieve your personal goals.  Despite the countless tasks they are juggling, staff are always willing to give up their time to help you and actively listen to what you have to say. I can honestly say that I feel immensely supported by the Dunottar team.
