Dunottar School Gets Active!

21st January 20

On 1st January we launched our first Get Active Challenge, a 31-day campaign designed to inspire pupils, parents and staff to start 2020 in the best possible way.

Challenging participants to cycle, swim, run or walk 15 miles in total during the month of January; this is not about being the fittest or the fastest, it’s simply about encouraging participants to move more, to reap a long-list of well-being benefits including increased energy, better concentration and a happier, more stable mood.

Since going live, over 120 participants have already travelled 3096 miles, the equivalent of travelling over land to Ethiopia.

Every pupil that completes the 15-mile challenge will be awarded a Get Active Medal and entered into a prize draw to win Simply Sports gift vouchers, the three highest mileage adults will also win prizes.

We’re delighted so many pupils have been inspired to start 2020 in such a positive way.   The competition amongst older participants is also really heating up with parents and teachers going head-to-head to achieve the highest mileage across all ‘movement’ disciplines”.
