Dunottar School Get Active Challenge

This January we are launching our first Dunottar School Get Active Challenge, a 31-day campaign designed to inspire you and your family to start 2020 in the best way possible.

This is not about being the fittest or the fastest, it’s simply about moving more for 31 days to reap a long-list of well-being benefits including increased energy, better concentration and a happier, more stable mood.

Sign up to the initiative with your family and pledge to travel 15 miles over the month – you get to decide how it’s done, you can walk, swim, run or cycle the distance.

If 500 of us take part collectively, we’ll cover 7,500 miles. That’s all the way to Detroit and back again!!

Everyone who completes the challenge, will be awarded a beautiful, Dunottar medal.  These will be awarded at an assembly in February (or posted out to families), along with some additional prizes!

The entry fee is £15 per person – this includes a stunning medal, the chance to win some additional prizes and a donation for East Surrey YMCA, our chosen charity partner for this project.

£5 from every entry will also be invested back into the school and contributed towards equipment for a new school gym.  Due for installation in 2020, the school gym will be equipped with a selection of cardio and free weights, available for pupils to use before, during and after school with off-peak access for parents.
