Millie gained golds for U14 25-metre breast stroke, back stroke and freestyle races at the 22nd annual National Dwarf Games on the May Day bank holiday weekend.

Run by Dwarf Sports Association UK, the aim of the event is to bring together around 200 dwarf athletes of all ages to compete in a number of sporting events, including a swimming gala. The games are inspirational as, similar to the Paralympics, they showcase ability rather than disability.

Her proud mum said: “It is an opportunity for Millie to compete with people of similar height and to make new friends. She trained hard in the Dunottar pool and was extremely determined to win.

“Achieving gold medals in all three events and being presented with them by Ellie Simmonds MBE OBE, Paralympic swimmer, was well deserved and a tremendous boost to her confidence.”
