Keeping our pupils, staff and parents inspired with a team of professional athletes

This spring our Sports Department joined forces with its network of professional sports people, to host a series of virtual ‘Meet the Pro / Q&A’ events open to pupils, parents and teaching staff.

Designed to inform and inspire, these events provided unique insight into the lives of some highly accomplished sportsmen and women, including the legendary cricketer Alec Stewart, International and Super League Netball player Laura Malcolm and Matt Little, Andy Murray’s strength and conditioning coach.

It was Will Hooley who kicked off the first virtual event on Wednesday 10^th February, followed (on 22^nd February) by Surrey and England cricketer Jason Roy, and two England Lacrosse players Julie Wise & Claire Faram.

Friday 26^th February saw Andrew Cole taking centre stage, the Man Utd, Newcastle and England football striker, Champions League winner, five times Premier League winner and scorer of 187 Premier League goals, was a distinctive hit with pupils and parents alike.

Also featuring in this series were Aylish Cranstone and Bryony Smith, two current female cricket professionals and cricketer Dan Douthwaite from Glamorgan.
