Pupils Raise Hundreds in Protest Against Human Trafficking

Year 11 students are donating £567 to the A21 Campaign, which aims to prevent human trafficking, to protect those who have been trafficked and to prosecute traffickers.

The anti-slavery organisation was proposed by Issy Watson, 15, who commented: “My friend told me about the charity and I was shocked when I saw the stories.”

To raise funds, they organised a range of events for students in Years 7, 8 and 9. These included a disco, some film evenings and a lunchtime fair.

Year 11 form tutor Laura Smith said: “The girls were inspired by Issy’s talk and they pulled together to host a range of fund-raising activities. Despite their extra-curricular activities and looming GCSE exams, everyone was involved.”
