Key Stage Three

In Years 7 to 9 the girls follow a broad curriculum to provide them with an excellent all-round education. The enthusiasm and expertise of our staff enable the girls to enjoy their learning.

Schemes of work are regularly reviewed to incorporate new material, to make good use of teaching resources and to take into account advances in ICT. Homework is set regularly and helps the girls to develop good study skills such as planning their work and organising their time. In Years 8 and 9 the girls have the opportunity to take part in an enrichment programme. In a timetabled lesson each week there is the opportunity to pursue an interest or a subject chosen from a range of options in more depth than usually possible at Key Stage 3. Girls also have a weekly Thinking Skills lesson. These are designed to help them strengthen their broader thinking and study skills as well as promoting a more incisive approach to problem solving; transferable skills that are greatly valued in today’s competitive job market.
