Senior School

Our Senior School is the natural follow-on from our junior school and those who move up are joined by girls from a number of prep schools, both in the local area and from London.   The main outside entry is either for Year 7 or for Year 9, but we can also accommodate girls who wish to join at any other point.   There is another direct entry point at the start of our Sixth Form, Year 12.

Our senior classes operate within recently built classroom buildings which have truly excellent teaching and learning resources, along with spacious common room and individual study facilities.  Expert, specialist teaching aims high and we set ambitious targets for each girl.   This approach is balanced by our supportive ethos, which means that everyone receives plenty of individual help and encouragement.  We aim to replace pressure and stress with the confidence that comes from knowing one’s capabilities and being well grounded and prepared.

The essential strength of Dunottar is that we are small enough to provide every girl with a rounded education that is tailored to her individual needs, yet large enough to offer a wide range of subject options and an even wider range of extra-curricular activities.
