Top Marks From Ofsted For Dunottar's Early Years Provision

Nursery and Reception education at Dunottar has been assessed as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted inspectors. The school met the criteria for this assessment in all four areas examined in the inspection, which took place on Monday 16 June.
Mrs Amanda Cooper, Head of the Junior School, said:
“It is a tremendous achievement for a school to be judged outstanding in all four areas of the assessment. Ofsted looks at all aspects of Nursery and Reception, including the quality of teaching and learning, how the girls make a positive contribution, and the organisation of these years, including leadership and management. The views of some of the parents are also sought at random by the inspectors, so it is a rigorous procedure.
“Inspection judgements are classified as Outstanding (exceptionally high quality), Good, Satisfactory and Inadequate.
“Ofsted statistics* show that between April 2005 and March 2008 only 5.2% of establishments in England reached the highest standard. Ofsted inspections take place with one day’s notice in order to give a true and fair assessment of the quality of Early Years provision. We are absolutely thrilled at the news – it is a tribute to the dedication and expertise of the teachers at Dunottar and shows their commitment to going that extra mile on behalf of the pupils here.”
