Drama
"All the world’s a stage"..........and the girls of Dunottar have enormous opportunities to become players on it.
Drama clubs are run for pupils in Years 7-9 in response to the interests and needs of the girls involved. The emphasis is upon working collaboratively and developing new skills whilst having tremendous fun.
There is a major school production in the Spring Term, which involves girls throughout the school.
Students perform as actors, singers and dancers. They also have the opportunity to contribute to the design and technical teams supporting the action on stage in areas such as costume design, make-up and stage management. Currently a production of “High School Mutiny” by Joan Shirley – a cross between “Daisy Pulls It Off” and “St. Trinians”- is in rehearsal with a cast drawn from throughout the school.
Speech and Drama is taught from the Nursery to the Upper Sixth Form and girls are entered for LAMDA examinations and participate in local festivals. The School encourages and supports students who apply for courses and workshops such as The National Youth Theatre and other theatrical and performance opportunities.
