Archaeology Club

The Archaeology Club is open to pupils from Year 3 up to Year 10 and meets monthly after school.

Recent club activities have included preparing an archaeological dig site in the school grounds with objects that archaeologists of the future might uncover, undertaking a computerized excavation courtesy of Channel 4’s Time Team, and craft work inspired by the Sutton Hoo Ship Burial, as well as investigating the mysteries of other graves, tombs and remains. The Club also participates in the annual National Young Archaeologists’ Award, sponsored by the British Council for Archaeology, The National Trust and National Heritage, and their 2006 submission was judged to be one of the top four in the country.
