Design & Technology
Design and Technology aims to give girls the opportunity to explore and discover their creative talents in an inspirational environment. Girls manufacture high quality products to their own unique designs, with a strong emphasis on design.
Throughout Key Stage 3 girls work with a wide variety of materials, processes and machinery. The emphasis is on each girl being “successful” by completing each project and taking it home!

The course work comprises a single piece of product design complete with design folder (of 50 hours' duration and attracting 15% of the A2 mark) and a written Product Study of approximately 3000 words also attracting 15% of the total A Level marks. The final component is a 3 hour written examination attracting 20% of the total A Level marks. The Design and Technology suite is purpose designed to provide a stimulating environment. There is a dedicated designing area, including a specialist library of books, DVDs and videos.
