Co-educational independent day school for ages 11 to 18

Why Dunottar?

Dunottar School is a happy, vibrant community where every child is encouraged to be the best they can be.  Our admissions team is available to answer any questions you have about Dunottar and to guide you through the admissions process.  Mr Mark Tottman, Headmaster, is always happy to meet with prospective parents to offer advice and to help you find out more about how your son or daughter would benefit from a Dunottar education.

While every child’s particular abilities, circumstances and needs are different, you can read here some comments made by our pupils (past and present), their parents and our staff about why they believe that Dunottar is somewhere special.

  • "The school's strength has got to be the staff - they are passionate, committed and fun. There is always a buzz around the school and something going on."
    Current Year 7 Parent
  • "We are delighted with our son's progress at Dunottar - especially his growing self confidence. Last week when I dropped him off I said "Have a great day!" - he grinned back that he "always does" - what more could you ask for?!"

  • “The move to being co-educational has appeared seamless and the future looks brighter than we could ever have imagined.”

    Connor, School Captain Team 2015-16
  • “Without the one-to-one support from my teachers and small class sizes, I very much doubt I would have achieved the grades I needed for Oxford - and doubt I would be where I am today.”
    Jenny, former pupil
  • “The support offered at Dunottar is unique…The teachers care about more than just exam results, and that is reflected in the relationships that they have with their pupils.”
    Aime, former pupil
